About Me

Hello! I’m Ericka, a passionate dog trainer with 10 years of experience dedicated to enhancing the bond between dogs and their humans. My mission is to create a positive, enjoyable training experience for both you and your furry friend.
My Philosophy
Training a dog should be a rewarding journey, not a stressful one. I firmly believe in using positive reinforcement techniques as the foundation of my training programs. This approach encourages good behavior through rewards, such as treats, praise, and play, making learning fun for your dog.

While I prioritize positive methods, I am also committed to the principles of Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) training. This means that if your dog is struggling with specific behaviors, I will explore all positive options first before considering any more aversive techniques. My goal is to ensure that training is effective while remaining respectful and compassionate toward your dog. If aversives are used you will be trained how to use them correctly to prevent harm while being able to control your dog successfully.

My Experience
My training journey started 10 years ago in service dog work where my passion still is today. From there I dived into the psychology of training earning a Animal psychology diploma and getting hands on experience with other trainers. I have multiple patent pending in the odor detection field for both military dogs and service dogs. I actively have been training and titling my own dogs for the past 7 years in venues such as; AKC confirmation, Fast Cat, Scent work and IGP. Today i am a therapy dog certifier through Therapy Dogs United, an AKC evaluator and actively go to training seminars to keep up with new methods to keep giving my clients the best work possible.
